In keeping with our founders vision, chapters and members of ALPHA PI CHI National Sorority, Inc. implement and executeprograms and projects throughout the year to further the ideals of the organization. Our programs greatly impact our communities.
S.O.S - Support Our Schools
This program affords chapters with an opportunity to partner with their local school systemin an effort to assist in providing educational enrichment. The program is supported by members volunteering to participate in activities such as one-on-one tutoring or helping in the classroom and chaperoning field trips. Chapters provide financial assistance in purchasing school supplies for disadvantaged students. The impact of this program will extend farbeyond the classroom walls. It offers the opportunity for Alpha Pi Chi Sorority to leave a legacy of service.
Ready To Take Action A Political Awareness & Involvement Program There is an intensive effort throughout all chapters of the sorority to increase our community's participation in the political process. Voting is the bare minimum involvement in a self-governed society. People every day around the world fight for their right to vote. Registering voters encourages community involvement. Chapters are charged with and trained in registering new voters, serving as election judges and providing transportation to the polls for seniors and disabled voters. Members will be able to offer voting credential information, local polling place locations, and present candidate forums and information packets. This initiative will aid in empowering our community to be able to make informed decisions related to the electoral process.
The "Assist Grandparents Parenting Grandchildren" Project
For many reasons, we have a large number of grandparents in our communities that are raising their grandchildren and in some cases their great-grandchildren. We potentially have adults in their 60's, 70's, and 80's who are taking the responsibility of providing care for minor children including helping them with social skills, and homework.
To support this need in our communities, we are adopting families in which grandparents are parenting their grandchilden.
